All Things Jigsaw Puzzles

Here are my favorite cardboard puzzle brands from throughout the year. There are several brands I’d recommend and I will include some of my favorite puzzles.

Le Puzz Series 6 & 7 Puzzles
$32–38

Le Puzz puzzles are inspired by vintage puzzles from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, that have an odd sense of humor. The packaging of the Le Puzz puzzles are just FABULOUS. They look great on any shelf, table, or anywhere at all! You can learn more about how Le Puzz designed its brand in my deep dive article about Le Puzz. They are literally my favorite random-cut puzzles!

Le Puzz’s Series 6 & 7 recently launched this year and these all make fantastic gifts. I love them all, but if I am forced to pick a mini puzzle, I choose Flat Apple — it’s a solid red puzzle inspired by old and vintage solid color puzzles!

If you’ve seen Karen Puzzle’s 3000-piece puzzle, you might not know that the gradient puzzle in the image is the 5000 Colours puzzle from The Play Group ($120 on The Play Group website, and $160 on Amazon). Elena Essex Puzzles & Journals
$16.99–$37.99

Elena Essex is an illustrator based in the UK — she creates some of the most beautiful puzzle designs I have ever seen! Elena Essex recently launched journals and greeting cards as well. How cute would be a matching set of puzzles, journals, or greeting cards for a holiday gift!

Elena Essex puzzles are made from high-quality recycled materials and don’t have any false fits and virtually no puzzle dust. They are truly one of a kind! Here are some of my favorites and some that are on my wishlist:

Karen Puzzles Ravensburger Puzzles
$20–$40.14

Karen Puzzles is one of the first well-known puzzler YouTubers. Over the last 3 years, she has released three different puzzles with Ravensburger. Earlier this year, Karen released her third puzzle, Colors on Colors, a 1000-piece puzzle featuring gradient puzzles! Learn more about Karen here.

The photograph uses gradient puzzle pieces from The Play Group’s 5000-piece gradient puzzle (designed by Clemens Habicht), Ravensburger’s Gradient Krypt, and Ravensburgers’s Gradient Cascade puzzle. This is my favorite gradient puzzle of the year so far!

Springbok Puzzles
$13.56–$19.95

As an ambassador for Springbok Puzzles, I complete Springbok random cut puzzles all the time! Thank you to Springbok for sending me these throughout the year. Here are some of the 25+ Springboks I have completed this year.

eeBoo — Charcuterie Puzzle
$15.39

eeBoo releases many puzzles every year and one of my favorites this year is Charcuterie by Uta Krogmann. eeBoo’s round and octagonal puzzles are some of my favorites! The Charcuterie puzzle was just a blast to complete. It’s a puzzle I will definitely cherish and do over and over! This puzzle pairs well with cheese. :)

Soonness — Color Therapy Bundle
$175 for 4 (or $58 each)

The color therapy bundle from Soonness features 4 geometric and gradient designs. These colorful puzzles are so satisfying to complete. They are available in a bundle or you can get them individually. Use my affiliate code, KRYSTALCOTRISS, for 10% off your order.

Art & Fable Puzzles
$24.95

Art & Fable released a new series of puzzles this year and they are all 500-piece puzzles! If you are looking for a high-quality but lower piece count, these are perfect.

Art & Fable puzzles have a beautiful velvet-touch surface — they are such a joy to complete! These puzzles are super high quality — you can even pick them up or roll them up! The puzzle comes with a reusable box stand, resealable bag, and thick & high-quality print of the artwork.

Galison
$14.99–$17.99

Galison Puzzles have such a huge variety of beautiful images and illustrations on their puzzles. Galison puzzles feature a paper backing and they are thick puzzle pieces. The fit on these puzzles are always super secure and tight. Here are a couple of my favorites from their new releases.

Ravensburger
$17.99–$29.99

This year, I had the opportunity to attend the USAJPA Jigsaw Nationals in San Diego! As a result, I came home with lots of Ravensburger puzzles. Here are a few other favorites from this year. You can never go wrong with a Ravensburger puzzle.

Aimee Stewart Puzzles by Buffalo Games
$14.99–$16.99

Aimee Stewart is a very popular artist in the puzzling community. She makes some incredible puzzles — they are often very vibrant and detailed! They are always a joy to complete. Here are a few of my favorites!

Reverie Puzzles
$40–$46

Reverie Puzzles are some of the most popular high-quality puzzles within the puzzling community. I got my hands on Witche’s Emporium and the quality of the puzzle is amazing! The puzzle has a softer feel and the pieces are very secure and fit. Even the 1000-piece puzzles aren’t loose at all — I was super impressed.

FYI: These puzzles are rather limited by release, so they often sell out fast!

Puzzle Apparel & Merch

There is SO MUCH puzzle apparel and merch available now. There are all kinds of t-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, and pretty much anything you can think of. Puzzle attire is mostly what I wear these days! :)

Puzzworthy
$6.81–$38.50

Puzzworthy is a new puzzle merch brand created by two of my lovely Instagram friends — Joyce & Jessa! There are all sorts of puzzler-related merch from coffee mugs, to t-shirts and sweatshirts, to notebooks and much more.

The Puzzle Republic
$10–$45

My favorite puzzle leggings and shirts come from The Puzzle Republic! They have all sorts of merch such as stickers, ornaments, apparel, blankets, drinkware, and much more. The leggings are literally perfect — they are soft and just the right size, they are longer than your average leggings.

Le Puzz Merch
$5–$50

Every puzzler needs a Le Puzz big puzzle bag! It can fit over 6 puzzles (depending on brand & size, more!) and I absolutely take it everywhere. Le Puzz also has a water bottle, stickers, and a bumper sticker available as well.

Piecework Puzzle Person Hair Clips
$16

These hair clips would make the perfect accessory for any puzzler! Perhaps pair the hair clips with a Piecework puzzle that is 30% off.

Puzzle Lab Merch
$10–$18

The Puzzle Lab features some fun merch including a ceramic mug and a tote bag! These would pair well with one of their amazing wooden puzzles.

Puzzler T-Shirts
$14.99–$35

There are many different types of puzzler t-shirts and these are some of my most favorites. This t-shirt from Completing the Puzzle is perfect for the puzzle lover that puzzles all the time! The sunflower puzzle shirt comes in many colors, too.

Puzzle Master Hallmark Ornament
$12.99

Hallmark comes out with new holiday ornaments every year and this year there is an ornament perfect for puzzle lovers.

Puzzle Accessories

The puzzle accessories listed below are my #1 puzzle accessories. These are my favorite puzzle trays, puzzle boards, box-top stands, and lighting for evening puzzling.

Piecework Puzzle Trays
$40

The puzzle sorting trays by Piecework are hands down my favorite puzzle sorting trays! With the sorting tray set from Piecework, you get 6 colorful nesting trays. They are very large — the largest puzzle sorting trays I’ve ever seen. I only use 2–3 trays on average for 500/1000-piece puzzles, so I could see these being used for some bigger puzzles as well!

Zakco Puzzleboards & Box-Top Stands
$29.99–$374.99

These puzzle boards are super high-quality and come in a variety of sizes and finishes. My absolute favorite Zakco board is a 14x20 board in the color Maple. They are real wood and of course, handmade! Some of the puzzleboards they make can also spin as well.

Zakco’s box-top stands are also top-notch. I don’t leave the house without my Zakco box-top puzzle stand when traveling! Be on the lookout for Zakco’s Black Friday sales.

Dimunt LED Floor Lamp
$35.97

The lighting in a puzzler’s space can make or break the puzzling experience. A puzzle lamp is a MUST for winter seasons and those long days without a lot of natural daylight. This floor lamp is easy to set up and very portable. This floor lamp is so great you might even want more than 1!

Kitchen Timer
$6–10

This kitchen timer is perfect for any speed puzzler you know! This is perfect for anyone using a timer on their phone.

Wooden Puzzles

This year, I attended Puzzle Parley in Rochester, NY for the first time! Puzzle Parley is a wooden puzzle convention and I was able to puzzle all sorts of new-to-me wooden puzzle brands. It was magical. These are some extra special puzzles I would recommend gifting!

StumpCraft
$29–$108

I finally got to test out some StumpCraft laser-cut wooden puzzles at Puzzle Parley earlier this year. These beautiful puzzles are full of several whimsies, whimwhams, and some even have 3D objects and mystery puzzles! Here are a few of my favorites thus far. Check out my Instagram to see some more pics of these puzzles.

You can find StumpCraft on The Hoefnagel Puzzle Club as well!

The Hoefnagel Puzzle Club
$34/month–$360/year

If you know a puzzler who wants to try wooden puzzles, gift them a subscription to wooden puzzles from Hoefnagel! You can join for $34 per month or $360 per year + $9.95 total shipping per 2-puzzle pack.

You can get a free month for the wooden puzzle subscription if you use my email when you sign up. Message me on Instagram for details!

The wooden puzzle subscription is SO worth it because of the value of all the wooden puzzles. I’ve tried so many new wooden puzzles because of Hoegnagel — even hand-cut puzzles and I am so grateful. One of my favorites was a 560-piece mystery puzzle from Stave!

Wooden Puzzle Brands to add to your wishlist:

Anthology Puzzles, Artifact Puzzles/Ecru Puzzles, BCB Puzzles/Biglands Puzzles, Davici Puzzles, Elms Puzzles (Waterford), Fathom Puzzles, Five Frogs, Hidden Piece Puzzles, Liberty Puzzles, Mr. Gogo, Puzzle Lab, Puzzlewood, StumpCraft, Stave Puzzles, Starz Puzzles, and Wentworth Wooden Puzzles.

Wentworth Wooden Puzzles — Hello Angel
$19–$123

My favorite Wentworth puzzles are the vine cut puzzles by Hello Angel! I love the intricate vine-cut puzzles and all the details and patterns in these wooden puzzles. Here are some of my favorites!

HelloFish Puzzles
$34 — $159

HelloFish is another new-to-me wooden puzzle that I got the opportunity to try this year! They have some lovely laser-cut puzzles that feature lots of whimsies. My favorites are the mini puzzles and the Masterpieces collections.

The Pieces of the Masters puzzles are double-sided puzzles of famous artworks and include a tacky pen so you can easily remove the whimsies from wooden puzzles! Use the tacky pen to assemble the mini-masterpiece hidden within the puzzle.

These wooden puzzles are special because you can order the puzzle with a display stand to frame your puzzle I appreciate the puzzle cut.

Liberty Puzzles — Mini Puzzles
$44

We will finish off this stellar list of puzzles and gifts with hands down one of my favorite wooden puzzle companies. I experienced Liberty Puzzles for the first time at Puzzle Parley! Their wooden puzzles are filled with unique and distinct puzzle cuts and feature tons of whimsies.

Liberty’s round puzzles are mini puzzles that are the most affordable of their offering, but there are lots of amazing bigger-piece counts if you have a higher budget. Even some of the mini-round puzzles feature lots of special whimsies.

Can you tell I like puzzles just a little bit?

Thank you for reading my in-depth review of some of the best puzzle gift ideas for the puzzler in your life! What was your favorite from this list? There is something for everyone on this list — from new puzzlers to expert puzzlers.
